Vacuum cleaner vs Sleeping

So Dyson might want to study my kid. I swear, the suction power that he has would make a very efficient vacuum cleaner! He is a champ at latching on. In fact, he figured it out before he even left labor and delivery to go to the nursery to be cleaned up and all that stuff.

He has subsequently discovered another talent, called sleep. Which is great, most of the time. Except when it is time to eat. Apparently sleep is more fun that vacuuming so he gets distracted partway through and falls asleep. Guess it all goes back to the happy as a clam concept. Oh well, I’m sure we will figure it out eventually.

It can be so frustrating those first few weeks–you mean, I have to WAKE this kid up?!?! It’s better for everyone, though, at least for the short term. But it sounds like nursing is going great (and you deserve it, after his extended happy clam-ness in utero!).

Everyone has a different when it comes to nursing; we found that 5-10 minutes on each side, and then switching which side you start with each time, worked out reasonably well as a start.

Keep up the great work–all three of you!
