Puffs Addict

Is there a “Puffs Anonymous” meeting around here that I can send Trevor too? He needs it.

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned to Miss Cristina at Trevor’s daycare that he had figured out how to eat puffs if they were place in his mouth but he was struggling on how to pick them up. Daycare providers love puffs (and cheerios) as they are great for working on fine motor control. Within a week, Trevor had learned how to pick them up and eat them and was estatic. The kid couldn’t get enough puffs!

He doesn’t pick them up one by one using his pincer grasp. No, that would be too hard and wouldn’t result in nearly as many puffs consumed. He grabs them by the handful then stuffs most of his hand in his mouth to get at the puffs. It’s messy but effective. Now he is a full puff addict. Spoon feeding baby food can only be done in between handfuls of puffs. In an effort to treat his addiction we have moved onto rice cake pieces for variety. I have also tried to sneak in well cooked carrots and green beans which worked to some level but he grew tired of them long before the puffs. Gotta work on more baby friendly finger foods and find Trevor that meeting to cope with his addiction.
